Moorish Room – Temple Tour
The Moorish Room is the smallest Lodge room in the Salt Lake Masonic Temple. The design and decor of the room, as the name suggests, is copied from a variety of sources from southern Spain and Morocco. There are several features unique to this room, the most obvious of which is the “G” over the Master’s chair in the “East” of the room. It is the oldest known neon light in the State of Utah.
The furniture in this somewhat “cozy” Lodge room has the same color scheme as the plasterwork in the room. Red and Green accents accentuate the motif of the room. Rather than individual chairs along the side, members sit on long benches.
