Colonial Room – Temple Tour
The Colonial Room is dedicated to (Worshipful Brother) George Washington. The decoration and adornment of this room has been painstakingly researched in order that it may accurately reproduce the look, and feel, of a Virginian Plantation House from Colonial America. This research is reflected in every detail of the room, down to the tessellated border, the colors, the furniture, and even the reproduction hooked rug.
The portico of this room is intended to resemble the front face or porch of a period Manor, and the Master, to resemble sitting on his front porch-facing west. This unique design was inspired by the manors and customs of the late 19th and early 20th centuries when in was improper for a Gentleman to wear any manner of hat or cap indoors.
