Old Schoolhouse at Camp Floyd
Lodge is Tyled at 4:00pm, events will be occurring all day.
The 19th Century was a tulmultuousand prosperous time for many Americans. The very roots of our modern nation can been seen in the joys and suffering of this period. Freemasonry, like the rest of society, grew and diminished during this period. It was during the most violent events of our Civil War, that the Light of Freemasonry shined the brightest. In commoration of this period, and the brilliant Men and Masons who made this period what it is in American history, Wasatch Lodge #1 Free & Accepted Masons continues its tradition of participating with the Utah Civil War Associations re-enactment at Camp Floyd, May 28th, 2005.
The Master Mason degree, is the highest Degree of Freemasonry. It is the sublime Degree wherein the complete instruction of Freemasonry is passed on to each Mason. The roots of this Degree extend to the early part of the 18 century, but it is in the 19th century with the alamgamation of competing Degree systems.
In full period dress, Wasatch Lodge #1 will confer the Master Mason degree, in the old schoolhouse at Camp Floyd. Master Masons who wish to participate as officers should contact Brother Jason A. Mitchell, Senior Deacon of Wasatch Lodge, no later than 15 May, 2005. Act quickly as officiating positions will fill quickly. Any Brother who wants to participate, should contact Brother Michael Moon. Period uniforms and dress will first be allotted to participating in the conferral, however Brother Moon has several years experience in utilizing your existing wardrobe to get period looking attire.
